Friday the 15th of September, the day before the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers Parade, was very wet and windy in Toowoomba.  Saturday morning, the 16th of September, the sun was back out and Toowoomba had a beautiful sunny day with 23 degrees!

Toowoomba turned it on for the record breaking crowds of thousands that came to see the Big Parade through the streets of Toowoomba.  Many came on Friday for the concerts and food and wine festival in Queens Park and many have stayed in town for the whole weekend to visit all of the prize gardens and open gardens.

People come not only from all over Australia to this magic event that has been held now for 76 years but from all over the world.  On the Friday and Saturday nights all of the accommodation in Toowoomba was fully booked and had been so for several weeks. Laguna Serviced Apartments had been booked out for this weekend for several months and some of this years guests have already booked for next years Carnival of Flowers.

A lot of people don't realize that the prize gardens are open until the 25th of September and there are still some hotel and motel rooms and apartments available from the 18 – 25th of September and the gardens are, for some, more enjoyable to visit without all of the crowds associated with the opening weekend.  An added bonus is that the accommodation is also cheaper by a big margin for this time compared to the weekend of the 16th – 17th of September.  Come on up and enjoy the beautiful gardens that Toowoomba is famous for!!
